I will criticize people on all sides of the spectrum (see my comments against RockParkMan's economic platform or my posts against bingbong). As I have said previously, I am not against "stop and frisk." I think they and Terry Stops are necessary law enforcement tools to keep our cities safe. My issue is where the "reasonable suspicion" dictated by the Supreme Court is solely based on the race of the person being stopped. If the officer cannot point to "specific and articulable facts" beyond the person's skin color, a search fails to meet the minimal standard of Terry |
