A large number of Italian men haven't adjusted to women who work full time and don't take care of all the housework 24/7. So they live with Momma who is of the last generation that does. As a result, they never marry.

Are you talking about Italy or America?

In my Italian-American community, with a large number of Italian immigrants too, I can't think of a household where the woman stayed home. They all worked. Many in the famous Ridgewood knitting mills. Others traveled for better pay and benefits to LIC factories.

Better educated Italian women became school teachers, secretaries, etc.....

The Italian guy who lives at home is a "Mommaluke" or "Mamaluke". Hey Tony, go get the semolina bread, mother yells in front of the neighborhood.

Italy's plunging birthrate is a European thing. It's been a problem for decades and now it hit Italy harder. That's all.
