I was staying near 51/Lex, and walked to 5 different racks eventually getting all the way to Sixth Ave -- not a Bike to be found.One possible explanation is there are not enough bikes. The bikes and stations were stored in the Navy Yard. They got flooded during Sandy. The installation was scaled back. Instead of 10,000 bikes they currently have only 6000 available. Instead of 600 stations, they are using only 400. They have not placed similar restrictions on demand. |
