A Mormon bishop is technically clergy, as they are given charge of a following in pastoral and administrative matters by those above them in Lds management in Utah.All clergy have no place in a secular government. Doesn't matter what faith. This includes Rev Jesse Jackson, who I did not support back in the 80s (ask Selkirk, he was initially surprised) for President for the very same reason. |
