It's not particularly different from people who say they could never live in California based on the perception that it's somehow inherently different from their norm. Large states with large, heterogeneous populations defy the stereotyping that we seem to find so comforting in pigeonholing smaller states. California and Texas fulfill the same roles for the opposite ends of the political spectrum when in truth they're not tremendously different. |
