Now that this ill-conceived plan has been killed, we can look forward to a congestion mitigation plan that is not a revenue generating scheme so that the city and state can continue to disinvest in infrastructure.

All those Upstate types will be greatly disappointed to learn that they WON'T get the $354M just because they denied it to NYC.

What this translates too:
No extension to B71 or B77
no added service to B6
possible delay in ordering 370 new buses(but didn't the city allready order new Orion VII NG buses ?)
no new express service

2nd avenue subway never opening..and i'm 38 so i don't see it opening either.

Who gives? Nobody takes the B71 and B77. Nobody wants to pay $160/month for CP or 165$/month for an expensive express bus.

I heard that a lot of the planned service changes is still going to happen no matter what. Maybe some of the future changes up the road may not happen (whatever plans for next year might not happen)

Wrong, alot of people do take B77 because it connects to two subway station that doesnt serve Red Hook.

BTW these 2 bus route need the extension because Simith and 9th Street is going to be closed when the renovation is taken place, there is no altenative transportation going to Manhattan for the Red Hook residents.

There you go ... the upstate folks are going to have to pay more for NYC mass transit services instead of the folks that insist on driving to work. Makes a lot of since Sheldon !

Most of the changes should happen anyway as the money for them was not tied to the Mayor`s moronic plan and he better not tie the 2nd Avenue subway to it either as that would be almost a crime. I do agree that we need to remove cars from Manhattan,no argument there but to charge somebody $8 to pass through Manhattan to get to the Lincoln / Holland tunnels or George Washington Bridge was insane. Sheldon Silver & the Assembly listened to the people of the city & did what the majority wanted. Mayor Billionaire needs to listen to and understand the working people who live paycheck to paycheck which I grant you is unlike himself. Thankfully he can not run for a third term, two was too much.

If you're driving to work, you deserve to get gouged 9 times out of 10.

People who live paycheck to paycheck are not driving into NY city! They are taking the PATH or other means of mass transit, because driving is already more expensive than mass transit. What the hell is wrong with you people?

Congestion pricing had absolutely nothing to do with the SAS. The SAS was paid for by the 2005 Bond Act. Bloomberg just used that lie to manipulate gullible people.
