Some IBOA'S had Western Electric runs to kearney. That was a big employer in the area back then. I know Bergen ave. had it Central ave too. And A&C bus had the Marion route that used Mallory ave. and culver ave. on the route to Journal Square. And as a kid I would get free rides on Public service route 14 because my brother knew the driver to Bayonne to 1st street and ave.c . There was Uncle Milty's or Bergen point amusement park what a great place.

The North Boulevard /Red And Tan Routes were about the same as today: 1 - Nungessers; 2 - Secaucus via Manhattan Avenue; 3 - Union City Palisade Avenue; 4 - West New York Bergenline Avenue; 5 - Journal Square; and 6 - Seacaucus. The 3, 5 and 6 were PABT while the 4 was GWBBS.

Yes those north blvd buses were well kept. Not so on the south blvd line. They had some sad looking buses. But it was a very interesting bus line indeed.

Uncle Milty's (or Bergen Point) Amusement Park on West First Street? There was an indoor area with a lot of fun games. Rode the 7 south to the Claremont Branch on Jackson Avenue and Central Avenue IBOA to the old F.W. Woolworth's at 337 Central Avenue (often adding a visit to Garden State News at 360 and the Hudson City Branch at 14 Zabriskie). :)

My brother ran the bumper cars there, so that was my favorite ride because it was free. I lived at Ocean ave and neptune ave around 1968 or so right on the corner. That was the best place for me to see buses. Bergen ave crossed Ocean ave there, the Public service # 14 turned there. Lafayette-greenville rt's 3 and the local passed there. And Red and tan's #99 passed there too! They had some new fishbowls TDH-4519'S bus numbers 30, 40, 44, 45 if I remember right.
