It isn't trackable on Bustime, even though it does recognize that route. It says: "F1 CULVER LINK F Shuttle Bus-Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue via McDonald Avenue and Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue" It repeats McDonald Avenue in the description. But there's no route outlined on a map and no bus icons riding along that route. |

Well, you couldn't label the shuttle buses for the M line the "M1." There are already plenty of M buses, including the M1, that have nothing to do with the M subway line. So they chose a high number and came up with the "M90."But for F trains, since there are no F buses, you can label it the "F1." I wonder if shuttle buses are needed for work on the R line, will they be "R1"? Or "J1" for J train replacement? Of course, shuttle buses needed for work on the numbered subway lines need a different labeling system. What do you label shuttle buses filling in for the 7 line in Queens? You can't call it the "Q7" since there already is a Q7. Maybe the "Q90"? But the sign would have to explain that it's the replacement for the 7 subway. |

It doesn’t conflict with Staten Island because a subway shuttle won’t run on Staten Island in any case, and even in the case of Brooklyn, the SI buses come nowhere near any of the numbered lines and finally the SI buses start with S40 so they don’t conflict with any subway shuttles that would be numbered S1-S7. Coincidentally that range of numbers corresponds to the 7 single digit numbered buses from before the 1990 SI renumbering. |

Since NYCTA doesn’t use “R” which it did on Staten Island routes for “Richmond” it could be used as replacement codes for subway routes the “R” standing for (R)apid transit. |
