Yes, and they may even be getting some or all of the land closer to 95 that's shown primarily as trees in that overhead. Not sure if that's currently Turnpike Authority property or not, but if it is, that's just a transfer of agency. The key will be how they arrange access to the property. To and from 46 eastbound is a given, but they'll need access for 46 westbound and possibly Bergen Turnpike as well. If Ridgefield Park will indeed replace Fairview (and there's no reason why it wouldn't at this point), those buses will be heading east on 46 and returning on 46 west from Englewood Cliffs and Fort Lee on all those 15x routes. |

I forgot New Jersey (a blue state) has the loosest eminent domain laws in the nation. Before remembering this, I was wondering why it was necessary and they didn't like buy the plot. |

By being granted eminent domain NJT still has to pay fair market value and/or go to court to have a price established if one can't be negotiated, but they don't get it for free. At least in this case, it is for a legitimate public purpose, not a distortion of why eminent domain laws exist. The real scams are when the gov't uses the power to favor large institutions and developers. |
