So, the writer would like to see the Bronx route restructuring plan look more like the Queens route restructuring plan. We all know how the reaction to that turned out.

I would say appropriately carved and not butchered. A restructuring should include new developments that are logical not just fine tuning some routes (Bronx) or a clean slate that offers no meaningful positive improvements. Take a look at the Route Restructuring project for SEPTA in 2018 or at MATA in Texas.

I'd say there's a lot of positive improvements in the Queens redesign but a lot of unnecessary negative elements that were introduced. But at least it is a good starting point for discussion to see if certain goals could be accomplished in a different way.

Exactly, some things need to be evolved in order to be truly better. I noticed how back then for many transit agencies, Service was more personalized in terms of service variants, yes the lower frequencies and lower populations allowed it to work, but it definitely served its purpose. Now that times have changed in many forms, I agree this is a good starting point for all five boroughs to be reshaped in a current personalized way.

That's the problem with every MTA pla I can remember. They always mix good with bad. They never come up with a plan everyone can support. Even the B40/78 combination into the B47 was good, but they unnecessarily eliminated the St Johns Pl portion of the B40 which hurt many.

They even insisted on changing my southwest Brooklyn plan which was all good to add bad elements like partially rerouting the B74 to Surf Avenue which lasted three months and extending the B11 to Canarsie which everyone told them was too long. That lasted a few years.

The seem incapable of implementing anything that is truly positive.

Most Bronxites still want a bus route to serve West Farms (currently served by the Bx11). When straightening out the complex east-west service, in the Draft Plan and the Final Plan, the Bx35 is the only route that has the ability to serve that neighborhood.

What about changing service in the northeastern sections, e.g. Edenwald, as I had proposed?
