Do you mean

"Queens Bus Service Redesign???"

or maybe

"When is the Queens Bus Service Redesign coming out?"

As usual no question mark.

The subject implies that Chicago44 is going to give is information rather than the other way around.

I dread the idea of telling him “why not asked them directly”, because it would just be him emailing or worse, tweeting them every five minutes.

Well, Brooklyn redesign started... so maybe they're holding off on the Queens stuff so they can do Brooklyn and Queens together.

Looks like much more transferring for passengers along with a lot of service cuts on some local streets such as along 109th Avenue in South Ozone Park, Braddock Avenue, Hempstead Avenue and 212th Street/212th Place in Bellerose. A possible new route along 73rd Avenue in Fresh Meadows to Kew Gardens incorporating a segment of the old Q74 route. It looks like the Q8 been rerouted to Brookdale Hospital and the Q7 route up to Atlantic Avenue or Fulton street in Cypress Hills.

It also looks like there sending the Q52SBS to the Gateway Center Mall in Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway. It also looks like a route has been extended to the North Shore Hospital in Manhasset along Community Drive but why not go into the former Macy's Parking lot to instead turn around connecting closer to the buses along Northern Blvd? Another bus has replaced bus service to the LIRR Little Neck Station instead of thru service along Little Neck Parkway plus it looks like segments of the Q110 and Q36 along Jamaica Avenue have been combined thus eliminating bus service along a small segment of Hempstead Avenue, 212th street/212th Place and Braddock Aavenue. I guess if there not smart enough to figure out how to serve these remote areas with a bus then just eliminate it and make people walk a half of a mile or give the commuter vans the business. seems like a bold plan but one that also seems to be very penny wise and pound foolish!

Have they shifted the Q35 in the Rockaway peninsula off Newport Av onto Rockaway Beach Blvd and truncated the Q22 ?

The always rather obscure Q111 service service into Nassau County down Peninsula Blvd through Woodmere seems to be gone.

That the Q34 would be re-routed out of Mitchell Gardens to provide a "straighter" route with fewer turns. The seniors in the neighborhood won't be happy. I'll be mildly inconvenienced.

I doubt they will backfill Q35 with more trips to compensate for the remaining Q22's that get that far west. They can assign some older Artics to the Q35, use as an excuse to not increase frequency, and boast they are increasing capacity.

Newport Av is a legacy from Green Bus lines. I am surprised it has lasted beyond Walder's 2010 cuts.

The Q37 seems to have survived. They could have told people to walk over to the Q10.

But isn’t Newport to be preferred over the parallel section of RBB?

I have always thought of Newport as having more surrounding activity despite RBB’s wider roadway, but I’m not around there as much as I used to.

And last year the cmmunity opposed the Q35 rerouting so they rescinded it. So much for the effort being customer driven as they claim. They are just doing what they want. I hope there is widespread opposition.

The only reason for the Q8 extension is so they can move the B15 from New Lots to Linden to provide a faster airport trip. Probably won’t make any stops on Linden or just one or two.

My guess is they'll reroute the B15 over to the Gateway Center Mall (if it survives at all) and tell former B15 passengers along New Lots Avenue that they could now take the Q8 bus and transfer to the Q10 route or to the Q6 route to access JFK Airport. That will save them a ton of money!!! All they need to do is provide additional free transfers!

Doubt they will do that because the B15 was started to give Bed Stuy employment opportunities at the airport. Stopping that would be politically incorrect. I think my idea of moving it to Linden is more probable.

Jamaica Av in downtown Jamaica used to get the B22 - the Atlantic Av bus. But they lost that to Archer Ave, which is the Q24 now. So Jamaica Av loses another bus.

Yes, indeed! Maybe to 165th St Terminal.

Back to Northeast Queens for a sec, it seems they are giving up on a through Little Neck Parkway route, and getting more access both to LIJ and to Creedmoor facilities. LIJ would get both the Union and Hillside routes at its fairly new little bus terminal on property.

And Creedmoor would get more service. But it still surprises me that Little Neck Parkway would get the boot in place of Winchester Blvd - Douglaston Pkwy.

Also to note: the Q12 does not go all the way to the city line but ends seemingly at Marathon Parkway / LIE (if I am interpreting it right). That would like mean the n20G would waive its Queens closed-door policy east of Marathon.

It looks like thru Francis Lewis Blvd. bus service so that passengers needing access to the subway would probably be allowed another transfer to an east/west bus. Along Utopia Parkway it looks like thru service is also being done and don't think direct service to the IRT Flushing Line would still be provided so former Q16 passengers along Utopia Parkway as well as Francis Lewis Blvd. would need to transfer to another east/west route. It looks like there also combining the Q15 with the Q48 route LaGuardia Airport route so no wonder they recently converted the Q15/Q15A to articulated bus service. It looks like the Q34 will finally serve Willets Pint Blvd in its entirety up to Fort Totten and travel along Union Street replacing Q20A/Q20B routes along Union Street. It looks like the Q64 is being rerouted to no longer serve Downtown, Flushing but travel north up to Beechurst and the Q25 would take College Point Blvd north and other changes to the Q20 and the Q25 routes in the north.. So many various changes to end route duplication but will it work and will passengers be satisfied with these changes?

If they paid me to do one. I have no faith that they will even consider my Brooklyn one. I have asked for a meeting with them to discuss it several times and have not gotten a response. They only say they will look at the ideas which really doesn’t. Ran anything.
