A frind of mine who happened to be in the same social organization with Joyce Randolph mentioned that she once told him that Jackie Gleason was very difficult to work with because he refused to memorize his lines and the other cast members had to ad lib cues to him to maintain continuity for the skit.

An imposter. Originally NYCTS 4789. The actual 2969 - later lettered as Fifth Avenue Coach Lines Inc., even later lettered with MaBSTOA script on the top and the two-tone green - would have been retired and scrapped around the same time the air-conditioned batwings (8301-8780) first arrived among all but one of the OA depots (the 12th Street) in early '67. As well, the actual 2969 was a TDH-4509 from a 75-bus late 1950 order put in by NYC Omnibus. This was one of the TDH-5101's from 1948.

Gleason was notorious for that; he thought rehearsal all but killed spontaneity.
