The library on my corner used to have them, not sure if they still do. Sadly, less and less people use paper maps of any kind, even phone books are going away. |

If that were the case, MTA would never print them. I am neither a collector, keeping only the latest editions, nor am I a luddite.NJT has very limited bus maps, they look like electrical schematics, and they are mostly useless. An MTA style map of them would be a very difficult undertaking. |

I don't collect, but often if the "bus map seat" is free on a bus, I'll sit there and pass the time by looking at it. Often I notice trivialities about routes or learn about oddball turns a route makes in areas I may not have visited or visited rarely.The system map is still fun to look at whenever there is one, but a PDF suffices. When I was little and got a new map on paper, it looked so good that I would never want to open it, since it always had that somewhat crumpled look after being unfolded the first time. NICE hasn't updated the system map on their website (and so I assume, any paper version) in almost five years. It's very outdated and giving out some blatantly incorrect information. I'm not sure if that means they stopped caring or just forgot that it exists? |

Bus maps are useful, but I think PDF files on the website is good enough these days, maybe the TA could save a few dollars by not printing bus maps (As well paper schedules for subway lines & bus routes). Bee line system map is PDF only AFAIK. |

I haven't seen bus maps on the buses themselves in years, I'm talking about ones you could take, not the printed one behind the driver. I'm trying to remember back when I was kid if I ever got a bus map off an bus but I can't remember, other than the Metrocard bus lol. The buses still have the paper schedules of random routes on them though. |

BTW, they got rid of the display cases with the various maps and timetables. Now what maps they do have are on paperback book type bookholders you might see at the library.They now have more tables and chairs for people to fill in applications. Also, I didn't notice any subway maps when I visited last week. |
