The event marked the first retirement of the 1936-vintage PCC cars in the Brooklyn surface fleet. The remaining two PCC-operated routes, B35 Church Avenue and B50 McDonald Avenue, were ended eleven months later, being Brooklyn’s once-vast trolley car network to a close.
