They'll take over the road as if there're a regular car. But if you hit them it's your fault, which I don't agree.. |

"They'll take over the road as if there're a regular car." Claiming the lane is a good way to prevent accidents. "But if you hit them it's your fault, which I don't agree.. " If you hit them and it's your fault, then it's your fault. If it's their fault...why am I bothering? |

"Claiming the lane is a good way to prevent accidents"If your not a car or a motorcycle, you don't belong in the middle of the street. "If you hit them and it's your fault, then it's your fault. If it's their fault...why am I bothering? " Your not making any sense. I have an idea. Drive in the city EVERYDAY and tell me about the bicyclist behavior on the road. |

Prime example, I was on 14th street and a bike going westbound along the eastbound curb unexpectedly swerved into the middle of the right lane head on with oncoming vehicles. WTF, please don't defend these a-holes. They're just as bad as motorcycle riders without the motors. |

Never had a problem with a motorcyclist. Was hit by bicycles three times while walking. Twice on the sidewalk where bikes do not belong. Could not sue the bastards either since they don't have license plates or insurance Cops never found them but I spent days in hospitals because of that scum |

But as the text states, riding in narrow lanes with vehicles parked along the curb is a good reason to not be able to ride along the right edge. So in many cases, riding a bike on NYC streets involves taking up the whole lane. |
