Posted by CapitalCruiser on Fri Sep 21 12:28:23 2012 ALL the new 2012 Gilligs have arrived on the property at CDTA's main garage in Albany, and despite what was told to you proviously, absolutey NONE of the 2012's (4073-4092) are Hybrids! They are ALL 2012 EPA Compliant Clean Diesels. All the new ones have been photographed!I've also heard there is a 2012 40 foot New Flyer Excelsior Demo #4100 being tested in Downtown Albany. Get your camera's ready! |

I just read in their Board meeting minutes, the report showed that 16 are Flat-tops and 4 are Hybrids and that they were going to replace the NABI's being the Orions are basically gone. |

I just read a post on Facebook about CDTA's Orions and this was CDTA's response, "We have removed all the Orion’s except 2086 and 2087, which will be retired next week. Two areas stood out and concerned us from a longevity and maintenance perspective with the Orions. The steel frame on the Orions were starting to rot and deteriorate beyond repair. The Nova bus frame is constructed of stainless steel which doesn’t rust. The front independent suspension also proved costly and caused a great deal of maintenance. Hope that helps". |

This is the document, Page 7, CDTA Performance Minutes June 2012. Also I did see 4082 in service. Based on my previous post, I believe 2086 and 2087 are the ONLY Orion's left in service, as I saw 2086 in service yesterday but not 2087. Did you say you have pictures of all the new buses? Do you know when this Demo will be in service or arrived? Thanks! |

Past the Albany garage about 20 minutes ago. 3 New Gillig's outside on the side of the building facing towards the back with the passenger doors facing the yard as oppose the way they were facing last week with those doors against the building. No additional Orions outback as yet. |
