[Transport Workers Union Local 100, New Yorkers for Safe Transit, the Southeast Queens Young Democrats and other groups have formed a “Bring Back our Buses and Subways,” a campaign to pressure the MTA to restore all of the cut service.] This sounds like the first half of an all-or-nothing argument ("Either bring back all of what was cut, or do nothing"). If it does become an all-or-nothing argument, the riding public could easily end up with nothing. |

("If you don't restore everything, then you must do nothing.") Remember that this is New York, where anything can happen or not happen, or even happen and then un-happen. |

They SHOULD RESTORE more than they are..they did virtually nothing for the subway except keep a service that by all terms of common sense should have been already operating for years!Removing the 44s from service...dumping hundreds of rail cars BEFORE PROPER REPLACEMENTS were purchased[OR REBUILT] practically SEALED our present service constraints for the foreseeable future until the R179 cars are delivered...And even then..there MIGHT BE some issues due to the "linking" of the equipment. The MTA dug a deep hole for itself..basically the 70's all over again. |

I'll agree with you there..he had no business running the system.HIS STYLE of "management" was SLASH EVERYTHING..except his paycheck..which caused nothing but division where none existed..the R44/R179 fiasco should be laid squarely at his feet.. In the end..his leaving should not have surprised anyone,since he was hired to be a HATCHET MAN FROM THE BEGINNING.. He shall NOT be missed.. |

Cutting riders off from connecting services..removing whole bus routes that by all rights SHOULD not have been..disconnecting whole neighborhoods from the network..were damnable acts that should NEVER had happened. And NOW..they have the very nerve..the UTTER gall to offer us a pitiful drop in the bucket..AND OFFER NEW ROUTES rather than replace what was stolen..THEN OFFER NEW ROUTES..AS A SERVICE INCREASE... ASS BACKWARDS..and not enough to make up for the loss.. oh yeah..bring back the B37 BUS! |
