Well I, have to say that it's unbelievable, if the temperature is 95 or 12, you would rather stand there and roast or freeze instead of getting on your way ? . It's transportation, from point A to point B no more no less. Your not buying the bus, your just riding on it. Now, I can understand that if your photographing & you want a certain series or even certain numbers if your roster shooting. The late Alan Bromberger, with whom I had the please of photographing with many times, once said, " you must photograph everything, whether you like a certain series or car type or not in order to be a complete & true hobbyest, and he was right" |

It gets quite silly, although when it comes to me busfanning, I ride what I like, and that's Orion 5.501s. I spend a lot of time in Staten Island and I like Orion 5s and that's also what I tend to take photos of as well more than other bus types, but I TOTALLY agree with what you quoted in that last sentence.When it comes to taking care of business, whether it's school, work or doing odd jobs for my parents, I don't care what the hell I ride as long as the bus is doing it's job, which is to get me from point A to B. In the worst case scenario the bus has has failing A/C, I open a window and deal with it. Some people have higher expectations, but it's public transportation. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. It gets under my skin when people bash the MTA to oblivion. If you're really fed up with their service, don't use it. |

I highly doubt that, I rode the 3000 series RTS's when they were in Flatbush & they were the biggest junk on 6 wheels, but I rode them, never passed one up if that's what came along. I never said that I liked that group or even enjoyed riding them, but I did when necessary as they provided service. |
