Especially the system that I am stuck with here, Valley Metro in Phoenix, Arizona. Not really that much graffiti, but a crapload of scratchitti and grime in the rear areas of buses. Also, the scratchitti "lettering" is pretty wide most of the time, and seats get faded pretty easily.Several other TAs (San Diego Transit and WMATA come to mind) have extremely clean buses and railcars (some unrefurbished and over 25 years old!) with NO scratchitti or vandalism, and are extremely clean anyway. I can't vouch for NYC Bus because despite growing up in NY I have not ridden an NYC bus (except the NY Waterway bus) in nearly 16-17 years (back when they had the New Looks). |
