Theoretically a route from Oakland Gardens finding the closest straight line to Forest Hills via 73rd Ave and Jewel Ave might make sense on paper. I can't remember if one of the early drafts of the Queens redesign had something approximating that. But anyway the final decisions made it very clear that access to Queensborough was a top priority, and the added Jewel Ave service (the new Q74) was sent there instead of via 73rd or Oakland Gardens. |
