Years before the Queens bus redesign, I thought the Q64 should be extended east of 164 St via 73 Av to a terminus at the traffic circle at 188 St & 64 Av. It would have given Fresh Meadows residents direct access to Forest Hills and the express trains at Continental Av. As it was, they had direct access to express subways only at Jamaica or Flushing. (The Q88 goes to a local stop at Woodhaven Blvd.) But 73 Av in that area is a very residential street of private homes, albeit with a bike lane, and I can imagine the negativity such a route would cause. |
