Likely route B72 was sold because Triboro Coach could operate the service more efficiently. The route was just outside the Triboro's new garage, which had opened in 1954. The NYCTA had to bring in buses from Brooklyn, either deadheading them or operating them in service over route B58, which was not particularly efficient. |
