I would actually like for the MTA to experiment and fill that gap up with a dedicated north-south route between Ridgewood Terminal and Rikers Island via Wyckoff Heights Hospital, 48th Street and Hazen Street.I think that such a route would provide much needed coverage through that area of Queens and perform at least decently. My only concern would be the closing of Rikers Island and whether there is enough demand north of Broadway to sustain such a route once Rikers Island closes. I guess in that case though buses instead can divert east along Astoria Boulevard to the Marine Air Terminal instead. |
