Posted by Q23 on Mon Aug 2 17:36:22 2021 MTA is in the process of receiving new Xcelsiors in various depots across the city. New XDE40s have arrived in Manhattan, at Mother Clara Hale (146th Street) Depot. The back doors slide outward when opening. There also is a screen near the driver which activates once the bus stops when the back door opens, showing the back of the bus (it turns when the doors close).Here's an onboard ride on XDE40 9563 on the M1 from Harlem to East Village: Here's some other footage of various other XDE40s on the M1 and M7 routes:   --------------------------------------------------------------------- Fresh Pond Depot also has received a 2021 New Flyer XD40 unit, 7851. More units are on the way and to certain other depots. The new XD40s have a full roof enclosure (compared to the 2020 XD40s and earlier, which have them in the front half only).
