Bypass whole neighborhoods of people who don't (pre-2005) have reasonable alternatives for getting to the Rockaways within even double the time the Q53 could have brought them?


They had 4 other bus lines that traveled the Woodhaven/Cross Bay Blvd Corridor-Q11, Q21, Q21A ,Q41.

Just because Green Bus Lines didn't have their act together, why in the world would the Triboro passengers have to suffer.

After the TA takeover and forcing the Q53 to make those extra stops-they realized they shot themselves in the foot by the mass overcrowding that resulted so they extended the Q21 to Queens Center but by then the damage was done. People would not ride the Q21. They still packed on the Q53 and the dwell times were so bad on the Q53 the eventually the Q21 would overtake it.

As far as the Q53 being so crowded as a non-stop express, I was trying to make the point that the Q53 was well patronized in its original form-premium fare or not.
