From my notes, the Bureau of Franchises actually had allotted a franchise of M-44 - Lewisohn Stadium for the purpose of shuttling passengers to and from such summer concerts. This may've been what that branch was about. But also, they had an M-32 franchise, designated Morningside and Convent Avenues. Several such franchises were not for whole lines, but various extensions to and from the main Fifth Avenue trunk line of FACCo routes (the Bureau of Franchises assigned numbers M-26 to M-39, as well as M-43 and M-44, for that purpose; as with the NYCO/Madison Avenue Coach/Eighth Avenue Coach routes, none of the FACCo routes used such BoF-assigned numbers). |
