February 15, 1970 - The Book of Route Resumptions (Sort Of) Manhattan, New York New York City Transit Authority Manhattan Bus Division Nearly four years after service on the M-13 - Journal Building shuttle bus is ended, the line is resumed - in a way. The route is now basically known as M-15S - South Street Shuttle, with the former New York Journal-American headquarters now housing the New York Post, and this service performing the same function for those going to and from said building. It travels along the same route (via William Street, New Chambers Street and other thoroughfares along the way) as the M-13 had at the time it was discontinued on May 13, 1966. Its revival would be short-lived, however; the line will be discontinued for good on April 1, 1971, when several streets along which the route had traveled are de-mapped in preparation for the building of the One Police Plaza complex. |
