Posted by W.B. on Wed Jun 20 06:11:20 2018 June 20, 1965 - The Book of Route Extensions Manhattan, New York Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Authority Route 11 - Ninth and Amsterdam Avenues' northern terminus is extended effective as of this date from its prior north end at La Salle Street and Broadway, to 132nd Street and Broadway. June 20, 1971 - The Book of Route Renumberings The Bronx, New York Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority Route Bx-17 - Allerton Avenue is renumbered as Bx-15C, thus making it another branch/spinoff of the Bx-15 route. On September 12, 1971, it will be extended to Co-op City. (This route will revert to the earlier Bx-17 moniker on July 1, 1974 as part of the massive route renumberings in Manhattan and parts of Queens and the Bronx.)
