Well, it was certainly after NYC Omnibus became Fifth Avenue Coach Lines, that's for sure . . . a lot of places insisted the takeover was when NYC Omnibus was still NYC Omnibus . . .And the "simpler" 2 tone green and cream scheme was actually within the last year or two of NYCO, carried over to after it became FACL. #2969, at the time of the 1955 photo session with Jackie Gleason and his "Honeymooners" cast, is testament to this. (Wouldn't be surprised if buses from the FACCo side of the fence went "simplified" in that period.) |
