A school bus blocking traffic for 10 minutes is not acceptable, and calling the bus driver on it is not "harrassment and disorderly conduct". If the story is true, the driver was obviously having a power trip.School bus drivers are not mental giants. For one thing, they ought to angle the vehicle to pull the front door of the bus up to the curb like a real bus rather than stop out in the middle of the street like a damned trolley car. It's not terribly safe for the little legs to be climbing up to the first big step. Stopping every couple of hundred feet on a side street with sidewalks with high school aged kids is also unnecessary. School buses operation has become far too much of traffic blocking affair. |
