A map is contained in the appropriate section of this file.East/southbound: Continue on Rockaway Beach Blvd to Beach 62nd, then shift to Arverne Blvd to go to Beach 54th. Up to Beach Channel Drive to terminate. West/northbound: Start up at Beach Channel Drive and Beach 54th, use Beach 59th to get over to Rockaway Beach Blvd to join existing route. Seems the concern is to completely encircle the apartments in question and maybe to serve Beach 60th St station (though who would want to change from the Q52 to the A there)? Interestingly, if the Q52 ever does get extended to Mott Av, there may still be lack of uniformity with the Q22 as they have clearly doubled down on having the two routes at variance with each other, even along their existing spans, much like the Q22 and Q35. I guess having two routes running parallel to each other continues to be the preferred practice on the peninsula, rather than having them together. |
