Yes the idea was common sense which happened to be the final line in my New York Times letter in 1974. So the question remains why the MTA did not renumber the Manhattan crosstown routes according to street numbers in 1974 when there was a massive renumbering?It's because they did not think of it until I suggested it. And I would like to add that the MTA told my boss in 1974 that the next time they renumber bus routes they will do it my way. But twelve years later, there were different people in charge. |
