It's obvious and logical. Q70 riders are either:

1. Regulars. So they know you pay onboard. They will continue to pay onboard until they are forced to do otherwise. A simple sign on the front of the bus means diddly squat to them as long as there's a farebox and a bus driver presiding over it. They're not confused.

2. Visitors. So they have no idea what SBS is and they don't care. So they're not confused.

3. People like you. People living out on the fringes of society. People who are paranoid yet ambivalent. People who would try to pay off board even when there are no machines and then, having still not gotten the message, would gonsonfar as to ask the bus driver if the bus was something other than what it obviously is. WTF man? So a few of you like this are confused. The vast majority of people are instead totally fine.
