But the point really isn't the extra distance or time which only amounts to a minute or two. The point is that two minutes is enough for you to miss your connection adding 20 minutes to your trip and the DOT change is totally unnecessary because it will make the street more dangerous not safer by adding 5,000 new pedestrian crossings and more vehicular conflcts at East 17 and Avenue Z by increasing the numbers of turning vehicles there being displaced from East 15 St.As the videos I posted show there is no congestion to warrant a one-way conversion and where there is severe congestion a few blocks away, DOT is ignoring and did not include in this study. |
