I worked seven years at the Department of City Planning all in the Transportation division. Not punted anywhere and I was the force behind getting many of my proposals implemented. Every other City Planning study before just remained on the shelf because the agency did nit believe it was their job to implement anything, but only to recommend.

Then I spent three successful years in Contract. When I was offered a promotion and transfer from one of former bosses, my boss blocked the transfer for three months because I was too valuable for her because she didn't want to leave me.

My next offer came from the Assistant to the Executive Vice President who I continued to work for my final 12 years until I retired, although I was not happy there either.

Every time I tried to leave, he would block it and said to my face, "you will work for me until you retire.". And he turned out to be right.
