SBS ridership is not down because other routes are down. SBS ridership is down likely FOR THE SAME REASONS the other routes are down.

Why is declining overall bus ridership a negative? Moving riders to the subway is certainly a success from the MTA's perspective. Moving them to Bicycles would also be another major success, which is something I suspect is largely contributing to why Manhattan as a whole is down substantially more than the rest of the city. The goal of SBS is to offer faster and more reliable service on high-ridership bus routes, not increase ridership.
