Please excuse the delay in answering this post, but work and other obligations prevented me from going on this board yesterday.I have read your post and must respectfully disagree with it for several reasons. You are trying to match apples and oranges. 1 - From what I remember there are NO overpasses on the Meadowbrook Pkwy between Merrick Ave. and Jones Beach. NICE and their predecessors enter/exit on Merrick Road because all commercial traffic is allowed on the Parkway at that point. 2 - I believe that like #1 there are no overpasses on the Belt Parkway between Pennsylvania and Erskine. 3 - The implied comparison between the JRP and CP I don't feel is valid because the difference in the heights of the overpasses wasn't shown and the curves are not as tight or sharp in CP. 4 - Don't forget that the lanes on the Meadowbrook are wider than on the JRP, probably because of it being built later in the 20th Century. 5 - I feel that the inclines and declines are more pronounced than the other two roads previously mentioned. I base my comments on the fact that I have been driving on them for about 45 years. Just my $ 0.02 |
