4900-5249 are having their rear bulkheads overhauled, components replaced, and suspension work done. These buses will be around until 2018.

I dont know where these rumors of buses being retired at 12 years keeps coming from because its not true. All of the Orion VII OG CNG's are being overhauled and repowered, and will have their life extended well beyond 12 years also.

As far as MTS goes, most of their new employees will likely come from Daimler, and they are already in talks about it. Several Orion employees have already contacted MTS about new positions which will become available late this summer, early fall.

@ LRG - I don't provide fluke information, and I never have. I have executive contacts at every major manufacturer except Gillig. (Totally not interested in their trash) the MTA demo is already on the assebly line just so you know. Every single MTA bus project is delayed right now. No exception for the RTS. Also, just so you know, MTA already stated they want the bus, and provided the delivery information to MTS already. They already stated exactly how they want the buses built, they sent MTS the final specs to MTS already as well. So, let's just wait and see. MTA already spoke, now it's up to MTS to get it done.
