From places like Mineola or Valley Stream the bus will take much longer than the train since there's plenty of express service from those stops, and the cost will probably just be as much since any privately run bus service will need to charge higher fares just to afford operating costs. Why waste time serving those areas when there are plenty of areas on Long Island that are miles from the nearest LIRR station that could really use service to their community? |
