Which park and ride would you suggest using, exit 52 or exit 49? I've come up with the following run time estimates:LIE 52 express to Manhattan: 1hr 40min LIE 52, LIE 49, express to Manhattan: 1hr 45min LIE 52, LIE 49, LIE 36, express to Manhattan: 1hr 50min From Melville is approximately 1hr 30min if going non-stop From Searingtown is approximately 1hr 10min if going non-stop From Dix Hills to midtown by train is roughly 1hr 30mins with the driving time included, so the bus would really only offer time savings if going to the financial district (which I'm betting a good chunk of the Dix Hills area is destined for). However, Long Island Transit is roughly 1hr 30min from Glen Cove to midtown while the LIRR is 1hr 10min, so perhaps some folks would just accept the 15 min longer ride? |
