The #409 survives most likely because it operates far enough from the route of the RiverLINE to still carry a substantial number of passengers, while also functioning as a feeder bus to the RiverLINE.

The #409 runs a faster route between Burlington and Camden via US 130, while the #419 takes the local service closer to the RiverLINE route south of Burlington. So the #409 still serves a purpose far apart from the RiverLINE.

I think the 409 could probably be split up at Burlington, with its northern portion becoming a Trenton-based 600-series route.
