That is my entire point. If traffic is blocked because of double parking and that lane now becomes a bus lane, even with enforcement, it is unreasonable to assume that it will be clear all of the time. Buses will now have to shift into the only moving lane for cars which has to make things slower, further reduce capacity for autos and cause congestion.

There is no bus lane on that segment of Bedford Avenue.

The sensible thing would be to allow cars to shift to Classon Avenue where there is excess capacity instead of first removing that excess capacity before SBS takes affect.

Again, after the lane is eliminated, Classon Avenue will be able to handle twice the traffic is carries now.

I am not aware of sny streets except near a beach where summer traffic is higher than it is during the other nine months.

The nearest continuous count station is Kent Avenue at Park Avenue. June is the highest month. According to a NYSDOT highway data collection workshop, "Even winter resorts show summer peaks."

That plus the typo in my mind makes the accuracy of DOT's work highly suspicious.

The numbers come directly out of an automated counter.
