A couple of people on each bus decide not to use transit anymore, and your ridership will take a slight dip. "Those numbers seem pretty small. So it's not like this is a big deal." Well, I'm sure they played a role. I remember the MTA said that ridership decreased something like 0.5% as a result of the service reductions, which isn't a whole lot when you look at the big picture, but the issue is that ridership overall is still decreasing even on routes that saw little to no reductions, and the MTA is content to allow that to happen. |
