It's a shame that AC Transit has lost some of the variety in its fleet that it had in the late 80s when I first visited the SF Bay Area. In 1988, IIRC, they had:GM Fishbowls (late 70s?) Flxible New Looks M-A-N artics (Old) Flyer D901 or D902s Neoplan AN440A (!) Only place in California I had seen them aside from SCRTD. (I think)Gillig Phantoms Even in 1996, during my only visit where I stayed in Oakland they had the Phantoms, a few of those old Flyers, New Flyer D40 (HF), possible some D60HF, not sure if they had their first NABIs yet, I did see one during my last Bay Area visit in September 1997. Since that time, they've fallen in love with Van Fool :( |
