Sorry to hear that a bussiness will fail, however if it has a good rapport some wouldnt mind the walk over to get thier bake goods.

So who is to blame? MTA, your politians who see who gets what throughout the state? Deficits are all around some may have to wake up and check thier bottom line.

I remember a story in Astoria about a few years ago regarding a newly opened chicken place. A staircase leading from the elevated line to the street was closed for repairs I guess which lasted too long. They blamed the MTA for allowing the stairs to be covered in construction equipment which would divert pedestrians to the other side of the street which they stated they posted a loss. But wouldnt advertising and word of mouth play a role in this?

The point is that bussinesses would have to adapt to changes within thier locations like these that would affect sales. In manhattan things are within walking distances of buses and subways, which ultimately they pay a high price being whatever the real estate market sells as.

But people also look for quality in the products that they buy which keeps them coming back. Katz Deli for exmaple is in a formidable area which a less than a 2 block walk from the subway has a reputation of large sandwiches and good which keeps people lining up at many times.

Sorry for the long rant but the B64 isnt the only route being cut and this is not the only bussiness being hurt. Question if this gets restored what will be consequence restoring this service or any other that may survive?
