Orion VII "NG" Body Damaged Fleet |

Posted by MTA_SI on Wed Nov 18 22:26:22 2009 I can't help but notice there is an ever increasing # of Orion VII NG's with body damage, especially to the left side. Some of these buses are only weeks and months old. Most notibly are the Kingsbridge fleet, with 4400, 4404, Stengal, 4175 just to mention a few, i spotted in a matter of 5 minutes this afternoon.Is the the quality of the material Orion is using, or are operators just having more incidents. I know in staten island at least 30% of the new fleet has some damage, most notibly to the left rear of bus. The MTA cannot let this happen to its newest buses, but something tells me its more than the drivers. It must be something with the design of the rear, maybe pertruding out more? I don't know, all I know is the number of times I have to get a bus signed off for damage is drastically growing. |
