1) Is it known for sure that the soon-to-be-ex-Westchester buses will in fact be 401-484? That said, I would agree that the 24xx-series is a logical spot for the Westchester buses when they arrive at MTA Bus, however, can someone recall the last time MTA has done anything with some semblance of logic?

2) From what I'm seeing from Trevor's roster at Transitalk, JFK has the most diesel Orion Vs from the 1993-1997 era, so I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up getting some or all of the ex-Westchester buses. That said, however, even though the ex-Westchester buses are of similar vintage to the remaining 1993 Orion V diesels (the majority of which are at JFK, though at least 1 O-V diesel from that batch is at College Point), there certainly have to be some differences between the Westchester buses and the MTA buses. So, no matter which MTA Bus depot gets the Westchester fleet, there's going to need to be some training regardless.

3) I will also agree with Trevor's assessment of Westchester's operations. It seems as though a lot of agencies are too quick to scrap series of buses regardless of condition, but Westchester certainly made out pretty good by selling their used buses to another transit operator (even if it is the MTA) instead of simply sending them off to NIMCO.
