I tried to persuade N. J. T. to go low floor. But they insist they would lose too many seats with that configuration. But on the other hand, I explained that wheelchair lifts would no longer be necessary with low floor buses. A simple ramp is so much easier on the operator....less dwell time. And far less maintenance costs for N. J. T. Some people in N. J. T. management can be very stubborn and old fashioned. |
