Ok so lets say that they do renumbered the 4300 Series MCIs to accomodate the Orion 07.501 NexGen HEVs. Where can they put them? Well here is what number series are available...

1110-1895 (Possibly, but wouldn't make too much sense)

2211-2704 (The best possible option, It could accomodate the 30 4300s and the new order)

2925-2999 (Could put the 30 buses here, make them 2970-2999, keeping them with thier siblings)

3475-3499 (Won't Fit)

4650-4899 (Again, Possibly, but wouldn't make sense)

5770-5897 (A good guess for the slated Artics at this point)

6906-7147 (Another Possibility)

7214-7559 (Yet Another Possibility, but you hit a wall here with the rogue Classics that are still on the roster but are in storage)

7820-7999 (Same Issue as the previous numbers)

8705-8749 (Just, No!)

Honestly the whole fleet needs to go through a serious renumbering, there is too many gaps and unnecessary spaces. Here is one way to renumber the fleet to make it work (This is baring the retirements of the 1990-91 TMCs and the 1993 Orion Vs)...

What I would leave alone:
1993 TMC RTS-06
#8401-8566

1994 TMC RTS-06
#8600-8704

1994-96 Orion Vs
#400-680

1996-98 NovaBUS RTS-06
#8750-9699

1997-98 New Flyer D60HFs
#1000-1109

1999 NovaBUS RTS
#4900-5249

1999-2003 New Flyer D60HF
#5250-5769

What I would change:
1994 TMC RTS-06
Old #1172-1190, 1192-1196, 5898-5902, 5904-5937, 5988-5999, 7148-7149, 7174-7213, 9700-9795
New #8568-8599 and 8705-8744
(Only 73 Remain)

1994 Orion V CNG
Old #317
New #400

1997 Orion Vs
Old #5938-5987
New #350-399

1997-99 MCI DL3 Cruiser
Old #1860-2139
New #1110-1389

1998-2000 New Flyer C40LFs
Old #800-989
New #9800-9989

1998-99 Orion V CNGs
Old #709-751, 7214-7285, 8568-8581, 9827-9999
New #681-982

1999 Orion V
Old #6000-6349
New #100-349

2000-01 MCI D4500
Old #2705-2924, 2140-2209, 7423-7428
New #1390-1684

2002-04 Orion VII CNGs
Old #7560-7819
New #8000-8259

2003-07 Orion VII Hybrids
Old #6365-6905, 3500-3783
New #6000-6825

2005-07 MCI D4500CL Cruisers
Old #3000-3474, 4300-4329
New #1685-2189

Ok so under my new numbering scheme that would leave PLENTY of room for the NGs which could be numbered 6826-7675. The New MCIs could be numbered 2190-2315. And would leave a host of numbers ungapped for new orders such as artics. Of course logical, but where is the logic in the MTA?

Regards,
Trevor
