D.C. Subway Ads Openly Recruit Kids to Bisexuality, Transgenderism

The Washington Metro and Transit Authority (WMATA), which runs the subway system in the nation’s capital, is donating space for a homosexual ad campaign that encourages youth to embrace homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism.

The billboard campaign for the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL) mimics a standardized test — filled in by a No. 2 pencil — of the type taken by millions of schoolchildren every year.

The ad is headlined, “This is the toughest question some teens will ever have to answer.” Inside the ad is a mock photo of the a standardized test with a question that reads, “I am,” and is followed by these five choices:

Heterosexual
Gay
Lesbian
Bisexual
Transgender
A pencil with its eraser is shown pointing toward the answers, with the circles adjacent to “Heterosexual” and “Bisexual” shaded in but then erased. The ad gives the impression that the nervous student filled in Bisexual, then erased it and filled in Heterosexual, or vice versa.

“This could not be a clearer case of explicitly recruiting kids into homosexuality,” said Culture and Family Institute Director Robert Knight. “If this suggestive ad does not send chills down parents’ spines, then they don’t have spines. It is not an act of ‘tolerance’ but indifference to stand by and watch as kids are tempted into trying sexually perverse and dangerous behavior.”

The bottom of the billboard reads, “For too many teenagers, confusion about sexuality and gender leads to isolation, drug and alcohol abuse, depression, even suicide. At SMYAL, we help youth find their own answers in a safe and supportive environment. But to help them, we need your help. …”

The ad contains SMYAL’s “Combined Federal Campaign” number, signaling it as a recipient of the United Way program used by many federal workers to donate to non-profit groups.

WMATA spokeswoman Cheryl Johnson said the company donated the space for the ads, and that they began running November 1 as part of a “public service” campaign. They were guaranteed to run at least for one month at 10 separate Metro stations, Johnson told C&F Report. As of last week, SMYAL’s ad remained at least at the Fort Totten Metro station in Maryland.

Johnson estimated the value of the donated ad space as ranging from a few thousand dollars to between $10,000 and $15,000. She said SMYAL paid for the creation and installation.

Johnson said that due to First Amendment issues, WMATA could not refuse the SMYAL ads. Asked if that meant WMATA would run countervailing ads that warn parents about homosexual groups targeting and indoctrinating youth, she said, “We’d have to. We can’t say that we must allow one viewpoint and then turn around and not allow the opposite viewpoint.”

‘Protecting’ Kids
SMYAL has a checkered past when it comes to shielding youth from harm. In 1999, it distributed a flier with sadistic imagery at the annual “Youth Pride Day ’99” rally held in a park in Washington, D.C. The flier featured a man in leather garb spanking the bare behind of another man and another photo of two men tied together with rope. At the time, SMYAL’s executive director did not return correspondence from Lambda Report, a conservative newspaper that monitored the “gay” movement, inquiring whether it is a common practice for his group to distribute sadistic-oriented literature to young people.

Several years ago, SMYAL was forced to issue a formal policy barring staffers from having sexual relationships with youthful “clients” following a scandal. The decision was reported in The Washington Blade, a newspaper for homosexuals.

SMYAL takes the standard “safer sex” line used by other homosexual groups, i.e., it promotes the notion that sodomy can be practiced “safely” with a condom.

“We encourage youth to have safer sex by using protection, to know their HIV status and reduce their risk of infection,” says the group on its Web site.

SMYAL also engages in political action for “queer youth.” Its Web site has a section entitled “Youth Leadership Initiatives: Queer Youth for Social Justice,” described verbatim as a gathering that “meets weekly to address current social or political issues, which concern youth. Issues we have focused on include the boy scouts, exclusionary policies, international imprisonments based upon sexual orientation, and the ‘war on terrorism.’”

The SMYAL Web site also has a link to the ACLU’s “Lesbian and Gay Rights School Protection Project, which promotes homosexual and radical gender activism in schools.

A page on the ACLU site devoted to “tips” for making schools “safer” advises, under the heading “In the Classroom”:

make no assumptions about students' families or their sexual orientation
recognize all family structures
educate using correct terminology
use sexual orientation neutral language
include LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] books in the library
put up positive visuals and images
incorporate [LGBT] issues in curriculum if appropriate

I mean really. Do people really think they can "recruit" kids to that lifestyle? Kids either are or they aren't. There is no way you can make a heterosexual kid homosexual. Just like a homosexual kid can not become heterosexual. They either are or they aren't, you can't persuade someone to the "other side".

There are people who are bi-sexual, who may believe that they have changed from one to the other, but such is usually not the case.

Children need good clean information, usually from their parents, but all too often the parents do not have the answers, or else answer with a snap response based on a gut feeling rather than on sufficent reflection to understand the roots of the question.

Kids need to be able to speak to their parents, so if anything, the adds need to change the parent's ways of thinking and reacting, so that a kid can feel safe talking to a parent.

A kid does not "decide" to become gay or straight. For straights it is not much of an issue, but for a youngster discovering their homosexuality it can be very traumatic, especially if their parents have slammed that door closed by a previously expressed attitude, perhaps uttered years before. The kid will remember that, and feel isolated.

Nah, this one's praising itself for "staying the course" and wrapping it for a red over red with a track panel out, then going for the diverge into the tunnel stub wall by using a shoe slipper to snag a column. Sometimes changing speed and course is a good thing if it avoids a wreck. Every time I look at this situation though, I think of Gomez Addams and a Lionel set. There is no compelling evidence that sexual orientation is either genetic or environmental. It's a politically charged debate, one where the science often gets lost. Saying a homosexual is "born that way" is as intellectually dishonest as saying they can be "recruited" or "changed".

I take no position on what causes homosexuality. I do take the position that they should be left alone to live as they please.

It is NOT genetic (or environmental), but one *is* born that way.
Were it genetic it would have been breed out of existance. In case you have not noticed it, homosexuals do not reproduce all that well. No genetic marker or gene has been found for it.

As it has been explained to me: There is some neonatal developmental issue present here. One model might be the development of photographic film. You leave it in the developer to long and the whole thing comes out black. You leave it in to little, the thing comes out white. The absence or presence of certain chemicals during a certain period of embrionic development seems to be suggested by some researchers as a key to this development.

I did not choose to be gay or straight, but I did choose to be celibate: that this has worked out for me is the good Lord's doing, and certainly not my own. Some people forget that I was a sailor before I became a monk.

That is what makes some of these Hindu god more interesting than many of our saints... their hagiographers did not leave out the human stuff.

There's no evidence to support making such a sweeping statement. It's why I jumped into this foolish thread in the first place. The causes of homosexuality are still unclear. You do not have to believe that homosexuals are "born that way" to further the cause of gay rights.

I used to think the way you did. However, I have read numerous stories about some pathetic heterosexual women who having tired of their marriage or their husbands getting tired of them said they "chose to have a homosexual relationship with an other women. My take is that gay men are gay men but women seem to think they can become switch hitters. That is why I fully accept gay men for what they are but am deeply suspicious of dykes. Sorry, but that is how I feel about it. There have been too many instances of too many women coming out and saying they "chose" to.

I look at it the direct opposite. But frankly if I could, I'd vote for NONE of the above, and let the White House be VACANT for the next four years. There's REAL issues out there and a REAL mess around the world and neither side has any plan for any of it. We've had four years of one moron and his gang of stooges, don't want to see the anti-stooges. To borrow from Newt Gingrich, why don't we just shut the WHOLE witch down and pocket the tax savings? :)

There's no evidence to support making such a sweeping statement.

You are quite correct. It is one of the many things that I have been told, and or have studied in books and in classes. What I suggested was a model, and there is no proof for it at all. It is a model aimed at probing one understanding. When you examine a model such as this, it helps you to see one point of view, it may be right or wrong, but it is a construct upon which one may speculate and discuss an issue. Just that and nothing more.

Clearly, homosexuality is not (likely) to be hereditary, for as I said, it would have breed itself out of existance. Yet it is NOT an environmental or even a learned behaviour. Where would somebody LEARN this behaviour, certainly not in the home, probably not in school or other environments, yet I was aware that I was "different" by the time I was in second grade, even though I had no concept whatsoever of human sexuality in any of its dimensions, let alone a concept of homosexuality or hetrosexuality.

The study of paraphilias (homosexuality is NOT a paraphilia) suggests that certain sexual drives (fetishes - the term is used in a less literal sense in this context) are fully mapped into a person's human matrix between the ages of five and eight, long before the awaking of a sexual awareness in most people. Paraphilias are also thought to be a learned or acquired behavior, but are so deeply rooted that these behaviors cannot be changed. Pediphilia is an example of such, one can never expect that such a drive will change, even if they were to abstain from this activity. It takes a strong person to not respont to such urges, this is why there are efforts to keep such sex offenders in custody after their terms. (Most paraphiliacs are NOT sexual offenders... that was just an example. Jeff Dalhmer was another extreme criminal example, and he was killing animals when he was 12.)

Human Sexuality is such an interesting topic, full of psychological issues to be explored, and while this thread did have its origins on topic (a railway advertizing card), sexuality and computers are probably the only other two interests that everybody on this board shares. (Sexuality becaues everybody has one, and computers, because if you don't have one you cannot get in here anyway).

The scientific evidence supporting such a statement isn't conclusive. Politics has forced those of us who support gay rights to argue that orientation is determined at birth and that it cannot be changed, but science has yet to prove so.

sentimental, insipid, juvenile, heterosexual infatuations presently

Our writers and artists will make love between men fashionable and de
rigueur, and we will succeed because we are adept at setting styles.
We will eliminate heterosexual liaisons through usage of the devices

heterosexuals. You will be shocked and frightened when you find that
your presidents and their sons, your industrialists, your senators,
your mayors, your generals, your athletes, your film stars, your
television personalities, your civic leaders, your priests are not the
safe, familiar, bourgeois, heterosexual figures you assumed them to
be. We are everywhere; we have infiltrated your ranks. Be careful when
you speak of homosexuals because we are always among you; we may be
sitting across the desk from you; we may be sleeping in the same bed
with you.

There will be no compromises. We are not middle-class weaklings.
Highly intelligent, we are the natural aristocrats of the human race,
and steely-minded aristocrats never settle for less. Those who oppose
us will be exiled.

We shall raise vast private armies, as Mishima did, to defeat you. We
shall conquer the world because warriors inspired by and banded
together by homosexual love and honor are invincible as were the
ancient Greek soldiers.

The family unit-spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity,
hypocrisy and violence--will be abolished. The family unit, which only
dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be eliminated. Perfect
boys will be conceived and grown in the genetic laboratory. They will
be bonded together in communal setting, under the control and
instruction of homosexual savants.

All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome
young men. We adhere to a cult of beauty, moral and esthetic. All that
is ugly and vulgar and banal will be annihilated. Since we are
alienated from middle-class heterosexual conventions, we are free to
live our lives according to the dictates of the pure imagination. For
us too much is not enough.

The exquisite society to emerge will be governed by an elite comprised
of gay poets. One of the major requirements for a position of power in
the new society of homoeroticism will be indulgence in the Greek
passion. Any man contaminated with heterosexual lust will be
automatically barred from a position of influence. All males who
insist on remaining stupidly heterosexual will be tried in homosexual
courts of justice and will become invisible men.

We shall rewrite history, history filled and debased with your
heterosexual lies and distortions. We shall portray the homosexuality
of the great leaders and thinkers who have shaped the world. We will
demonstrate that homosexuality and intelligence and imagination are
inextricably linked, and that homosexuality is a requirement for true
nobility, true beauty in a man.

Well ... he's had a few credibility problems lately (that "I was a junior commie thing" was about as accurate as CBS Nooze) and he's about to kiss several fiscal sidewalks over the way the state did things, but I'll let that fester until it becomes obvious. Too early for most folks to smell it yet, much like Gray Davis and Enron. :)

As for the humor - rule number ONE here - "NEVER take life too seriously, and BEWARE of those who do" ... along with, "I'm an equal opportunity backstabber, but I appear to be partial for a short while because the incumbents are all ONE party lately - this will change" ... upon that shift, you'll hear me whine about the other guys once there's other guys to whine about. INCUMBENTS are the enemy in my book (unless they decide to do something for REGULAR people for a change) ... stick around, you'll see ...

Rhetoric and well-written lines for an actor are one thing - as you know, it does take a couple of years for any politician to begin developing their own "on MY watch" stink ... there's a few skunks in the woodpile that will need smoking out, but spring's a long way off. Let 'em breed. (grin) Meanwhile, there's plenty of stinkers in need of haulage THIS year, and CSX won't put 'em on the train. Looks like WE'LL have to. :)

At this point, I suspect Michael MOORE might be a better leader. Yeah, what the hey, you go dig up the paydirt, I'll sharpen my teeth.
